Rusudan (Rusa) Tchkuaseli is a Partner at BLC Law Office. She has been advising clients on complex cross-border transactions and disputes since 2009, representing multinational corporations, financial institutions, investment funds, developers and private investors in their most significant investments and disputes in Georgia. Her practice combines corporate/M&A, banking and finance, project development and international dispute resolution, allowing her to advise clients throughout the full life cycle of major investments in Georgia.

Rusa regularly advises on acquisitions, restructurings, project financings, syndicated and IFI-backed loans, strategic investments across the energy, infrastructure, real estate, financial services and technology sectors. She has extensive experience reviewing English-law finance documentation and coordinating multi-jurisdictional transactions involving international financial institutions and export credit agencies.

Alongside her transactional practice, Rusa has developed a strong reputation in international arbitration and complex commercial litigation. She has acted in disputes under ICC, LCIA, SCC and ICSID frameworks, represented investors and multinational companies in shareholder, construction, energy and post-M&A disputes, and advises on enforcement strategy, interim relief and cross-border asset protection.

  • Advised an international financial institution consortium on several cross-border financings of Georgian energy and infrastructure projects, including review and negotiation of English-law finance and security documentation.
  • Represented foreign investors in investment treaty and commercial arbitration arising from large-scale infrastructure and hospitality investments, working alongside leading international law firms.
  • Led the Georgian law aspects of complex acquisitions and corporate restructurings involving regulated businesses, manufacturing companies and strategic investors.
  • Advised on some of Georgia's most significant renewable energy developments, including project development, financing, EPC, security packages and regulatory matters.
  • Represented a foreign investor in a multi-billion dollar investment dispute arising from state measures affecting a landmark infrastructure development in Georgia.
  • Advised banks, borrowers and sponsors on syndicated financings, capital markets transactions, security enforcement and financial regulatory matters.
  • Acted in high-value shareholder and post-acquisition disputes involving fraud allegations, interim measures and cross-border asset tracing.
  • Regularly advises multinational technology, life sciences and industrial clients on market entry, corporate governance, compliance and strategic investments in Georgia and Central Asia.
